Fred was born August 24, 1948 in Nebraska City, NE to Fred W. and Dorothy (Wurtele) Glover. He was baptized and confirmed at Bethel United Church of Christ in Nebraska City. Fred graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1966. He was in the trucking business his entire adult life. He started hauling cattle from the sale barn in Nebraska City as a kid, and then eventually started Glover Trucking. He married the love of his life Judith (Judy) Glover on July 10, 1981 at the Rose Garden in Sioux City, Iowa.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in South Sioux City, Nebraska.
Fred truly enjoyed working, but when he was home, he liked boating with family and friends, his dogs, cooking, and swearing at the Huskers and the politicians.
He is survived by his daughter, Nichole (Niki) of South Sioux; son, Bret of South Sioux; sister, Roxie (Dan) Cillessen of Weatherford, TX; several nieces, nephews, and close personal friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, and his mother and father.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
We meet Fred about 30 yrs ago. We both loaded at John Morrell and unload in Calif. Sorry to read about his passing.
Brett & Niki - Our families have known each other since the beginning of time, it seems. Freddy will be greatly missed by all - he could enter any room and instantly brighten it up. He could tell stories like no other and we really looked forward to him coming down to our Christmas parties. RIP Freddy. The George Crouse Family.
Sincere sympathy on the loss of Fred. He was a "gentle giant" of a man, very courteous, thoughtful and kind. Through my employment, I was privileged to visit with Fred not only via telephone but also in person. He was a gem of a person, always putting others needs ahead of his own. His wife, Judy, attended and graduated from the same high school here in Schleswig where we also went to school. They are now together in our REAL home in Heaven where we are promised to see them again when we join them. May God wrap his loving arms around you and grant you His Peace. May Fred and Judy now rest in peace.
