Kenneth O. Anderson, 95, of Allen, NE died Friday, January 27, 2012 at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church in Allen, NE with Pastor Sarah Ruch officiating. Burial will be in the Eastview Cemetery in rural Allen. Visitation will be held at the Mohr Funeral Home in Ponca, NE on Monday, January 30, 2012 beginning at 5:00 P.M., with the family present at 6:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Kenneth was born on June 30, 1916 at Maskell, NE to Ole G. and Hilda (Birkley) Anderson. He attended the Maskell School before working for area farmers. He moved to the Willis, NE area in 1939.

Ken was united in marriage to Elizabeth Speckman on July 19, 1943 at Dakota City, NE. They farmed in the Willis area until 1979 when they moved to Allen. Kenneth resided in Allen until moving to the Wakefield Health Care Center in 2009.

He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Allen. He was very active at the Senior Center - delivering meals on wheels, raising garden produce for the farmer's market and picking up popcorn for the Christmas bazaar. Ken enjoyed reading, playing cards, gardening, and collecting model cars and marbles.

He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Mary and Ted Szenger of Brunswick, OH and Jean and Scott Morgan of Allen, NE; four grandchildren, Laura (Rich) Bailey of Creston, OH, Ken (Lisia) Szenger of Vermilion, OH, Amy (Kevin) Kittams of Sioux Falls, SD and Philip Morgan of Omaha, NE; 6 great-grandchildren; one brother, Milo (Mary Lou) Anderson of Ponca, NE; sister-in-law, Betty Anderson of Palmyra, MO; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth in 1999; siblings, Opal Anderson, Leonard (Margaret) Anderson, Marie Anderson, Lloyd (Jenette) Anderson, Arlyn Anderson, Merle Anderson, Warren Anderson; sister-in-law, Grace (MS "Bud") Houchins; and one great-grandson.
